What was the best advice you were given?
“When you are in a situation of crisis, don’t try to control and solve it with your head. Try to solve it with your emotional intelligence.” That has been working well so far.

What would you ask death in private?
Would it be possible to handle this business of dying a bit more fairly? You seem to run it like a lottery. People say: in death we’re all equal, but I disagree. Kindly work on your equality agenda, much appreciated.

Do you believe in the effectiveness of protest?
Definitely.

In which idea you stay devoted to?
I believe in curiosity and sincere interest. Both is a door opener to practically everything and offers the possibility to evolve.

What is time?
I think everything around us somehow is time. We are time, embodied time. Time is a mystery that I wish will never be unfolded.

Biografie
Antje Schupp ist Regisseurin, Performerin und Autorin. Sie studierte Regie an der Bayrischen Theaterakademie August Everding sowie Theater‑, Film- und Medienwissenschaft an der Universität Wien. Sie inszeniert Sprech- und Musiktheater, entwickelt eigene Produktionen in der freien Szene, arbeitet häufig in Kollaboration mit anderen Künstler*innen sowie mit nicht-professionellen Darsteller*innen. Inszenierungen u. a. am Theater Basel, Schauspielhaus Zürich, Kaserne Basel oder Staatstheater Augsburg. Einladungen zu Festivals wie Theaterspektakel Zürich, Antigel Genf, Politik im Freien Theater oder Impulse Theater Festival. Antje Schupp arbeitet regelmässig in internationale Kollaborationen, zuletzt in Südafrika für PINK MON€Y und in Kosovo. Viele Zusammenarbeiten mit Beatrice Fleischlin, z. B. bei «Islam für Christen – Ein Crashkurs (Level A1)». Operninszenierungen von Mozart, Massenet, Vivaldi und Menotti. Ihre aktuelle Soloperformance «Loss & Luck» ist im Mai 2020 am Europäischen Zentrum der Künste Hellerau zu sehen. Antje Schupp ist Festspielpreisträgerin der Festspiele Zürich 2020 und Teil der Swiss Performing Arts Selection der Schweizer Kulturstiftung Pro Helvetia. www.antjeschupp.de und www.ruakooperative.de
