Expelled, imprisoned, muzzled

Journalism as a target of the powerful

Matinee by Reporters Without Borders on the occasion of Media Freedom Day

To mark this year's International Press Freedom Day on May 3, Reporters Without Borders invites you to a matinee at the Kulturhaus Helferei. We will have the moving texts of imprisoned media professionals read aloud by the speaker and actress Isabelle Paris in order to give them a voice despite their imprisonment. We will discuss with two exiled journalists, Olga Klaskovskaya from Belarus and Najibah Zartosht from Afghanistan, about their work in their countries of origin, their imprisonment and escape, and their experiences in Switzerland. We also present the new global press freedom ranking by Reporters Without Borders and shed light on current challenges facing journalism worldwide.
