Muslimaniac - The Career of an Enemy Image

Reading and talk with Ozan Zakariya Keskinkılıç

Foreign, dangerous, backward: Characteristics that are also readily attributed to Muslims in this country. These stereotypes have solidified before the minaret or burqa initiative and also long before September 11 in Europe.

"Muslimaniac" is what author and poet Ozan Zakariya Keskinkılıç calls this invention of "Muslims as a problem." He reconstructs the history of anti-Muslim racism and shows how much colonialism is in today's Islam debate - also here in Switzerland.

We talk about the career of an enemy image, Queer Jihad and a poetic Islam, of racism, discrimination and exclusion in our society. The evening takes place around the International Day Against Racism.
